In 1991, Joycelyn Snell founded Professional Career Solutions, a Boston-based career management consulting business specializing in executive coaching, career assessment and leadership staff development. She was recognized as one of Boston’s top 10 executive coaches in 2005.
For more than 14 years, she has created winning strategies for developing and positioning professionals and companies for success. She has collaborated with the Galler Group since 1995 and continues to provide fundraising/development organizations dynamic professional development activities that enable them to move forward in their respective careers. She is a frequent lecturer and presenter at conferences and universities, such as MIT’s Sloan School of Management, and Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, on career development strategies.
Joycelyn holds a BS in Psychology from Washington University, a MA in Human Resources and Counseling from the State University of New York, and an advanced certification in Organizational Development from the National Training Lab/American University and the Advanced Management Program at the European Institute of Business (INSEAD)
Glenn Kaufhold brings to his clients 27 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, management, marketing and communications. In addition to working with The Galler Group, he is president of his own consulting firm, GKollaborative He offers his clients services in fundraising assessments, campaign feasibility studies and counsel, board development and governance, strategic planning, and coaching. A representative client list includes Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District (California), CharterCARE Health Partners (Rhode Island), Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts (Florida), and SAVE Foundation (Florida)
Previously, Glenn was the Executive Director and CEO of the Miami Dade College Foundation, the fundraising and alumni relations partner for the country’s largest institution of higher education. Prior to joining the college, he was Assistant Vice President for Corporate and Foundation Relations at Florida International University in Miami. He also served as Vice President for Development & Marketing at The Medical Foundation (Massachusetts) Director of Development and Marketing for Fenway Health, a community health center (Massachusetts), and Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. While at BU, he was co-founder and executive director of Special Athletes/Special Smiles, a national oral health initiative created in partnership with Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Special Olympics International.
Glenn’s professional and community involvement includes the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (former president-elect of the Massachusetts Chapter), Leave A Legacy-Miami, SAVE-Dade Foundation (Vice Chair), and Tigertail Productions.
Glenn holds a BA in English from Montclair State University.
After over 20 years as a successful fundraiser and vice-president (WGBH-Boston and Bates College in Lewiston, Maine), Vicky began her consulting career in 2007. Current and recent consulting clients include Ursinus College (Pennsylvania), The Portland Museum of Art (Maine), The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare at Massachusetts General Hospital (Massachusetts), Spurwink Services, a major social service agency in Maine, The Grace Center (Tenants Harbor, Maine), and Fox Chase Cancer Institute (Pennsylvania). She is also a founder of The Ithaca Institute, which develops and conducts training programs for development professionals.
As a consultant, she specializes in helping a development staff and its president become ready to execute a campaign by establishing a strong major gifts effort based upon the work that has been done to sustain annual giving/membership. She teaches and coaches teams: to determine what is the best course for their non-profit to cultivate and solicit major donors, to build a compelling case that encourages donors to stretch, to develop programs and events that provide stewardship, to establish a network of volunteers, and to develop the principles of prospect and moves management that build donor loyalty and a culture of philanthropy for the long-term. She also has had direct experience in corporate and foundation fundraising and helps institutions decide how much effort to expend in these areas and what strategies to employ.
Vicky has an undergraduate degree in French and pursued graduate studies in education and comparative literature at the University of California, Berkeley.
Susan Galler, President, Galler Group has worked for over 30 years as a successful nonprofit leader. She founded The Galler Group in 1997 to provide fundraising counsel, board relations, strategic planning and executive coaching expertise to leading nonprofit organizations. In addition, she is a skilled facilitator of board and staff retreats. She also provides leadership development and coaching to executive team members of non-profit organizations.
Prior to founding The Galler Group, Susan served as Senior Vice President, Development for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where she successfully completed $56 million dollar capital campaign for a new outpatient facility. Previously, she was the Director of Development at WGBH (Massachusetts) and the Director of Development at Planned Parenthood League of MA.
Susan has been involved in many professional organizations as a volunteer leader including: President of Women in Development/ MA, Board member of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) in both FL and MA, Board member of the Planned Giving Group of New England.
She is also an active community volunteer and is the former Vice Chair of the Foundation Board of the New World School for the Arts/FL, and previously served as an Overseer of Celebrity Series/MA, Overseer of Decordova Sculpture Park and Museum/MA, Overseer of the Citi Performing Arts Center/MA and Founding Trustee of Jewish Women’s Archive/MA.
Susan holds a BA in English from Harvard College.
